If you don't have hosting you simply can't have a website. It's very affordable for what it is getting your
company name out there to potentially thousands of people. There's no easy way around it, we all have to pay, even me.
Every year a reminder is sent to you.
Domain and Hosting is due to be paid.

First of all don't worry there's two reminders BUT, If you forget to pay on the due date you could lose your domain name and it could cost you hundreds of pounds to get it back. Domain names get hoovered from people who 'forget' to renew. I've honestly seen it happen.
In a word no as it's not a necessity it's just another selling point. Saying things like 'oh we keep your site up to date
with all the latest analytics'. When your site is going live everything gets run through google analytics by me.
It's not a special magical thing. All part of the service (or the price if you prefer) and once it's done, just forget about it.
One site I took over was paying a staggering $240 a month just to make simple changes through out the year.

Updating is when you want to add or remove products, team members, sale items, new address info. Again this was all part of the $240 a month. For this work I charge by time only and it'll be done usually pretty quickly which works out incredibly cheaper as I am your very own 'on call specialist'. Now this could be minor or major alterations but it's always affordable and a much simpler way for you to see the advantage of not paying for a service you might need two, three or four times a year.
Yeah nah, don't get caught up with this term as it's so outdated because of the amount of companies on the internet. If you go looking for a specialised item like 'Italian Red Leather Sofa' Would you believe that DFS and ScS come out a way down on the page ranking and those companies are huge. If you want to be at the top then you will have to pay thousands of pounds for that priveledge. You're never going to compete with Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk so for the time being just be happy where you are - as high as possible.
Creating artwork for complete company needs. Anything from office stationery, brochures, cards etc, to vehicle wraps, indoor/outdoor advertising banners, stand alone flying banners and I've never lost out on a job because of price - I design it all.
